    Hi Nancy

I am very close with SPH to getting a resolution on the mutual issue you guys have.

I did not get an email from you so I missed that. Perhaps work with SPH to get it to me or have it forwarded. Once it works on SPH site free of issue we can tweak it and put it on yours.

When using Easy Populate w/ custom fields there is a bug where custom fields are "emptied" when importing using the Model/Qty/Price import (no bug w/ full import).
Can you link to the ez pop version you are using in the downloads section?

None of the common ones should have bugs nor should they have issue with uploading partial inventories.

I am having trouble with my pictures through easy populate. I uploaded the files to my server. I added the pictures with several different versions today (ie. just /images/pic.jpg and then www.website/images/pic.jpg), but neither actually shows the file. Is there a step by step instructions for adding pics. I only tried to add the Guntersville Reservoir Cemeteries for today and it is just showing the image title in place of the image. Any thoughts as to what I did wrong? southerngenealogybooks dot com.

mary4c You do not need the '/images/' location as EP by default looks in '/images/'.

Good idea to put your images in folders of suppliers or categories, etc as it makes life a little easier to organise

Thanks for the info. It worked! Is there any optimal size for pics? It took forever to load this morning.

That depends on how great the resolution you need. Most can be resized somewhere between 600dpi to 800dpi. Depending on your imaging software, you can try different levels of compression (using jpg format) to see which gives the desirable image clarity and file size. The lower the compression, the higher the quality and the larger the file size.

I use a cable companies' internet service and it only takes a second or so to upload a 75K image but dial-up service is a bear.

A simple quideline is to see what your large image size in your config section is and then make your images equal or less than that. The will be reduced to that size anyway, so anything larger is just a waste of file storage space.

Keep in mind that I am really new to this program. Can you explain the config section? I checked on the Configuration>Images, but all it tells me is the height and width size.

I have already uploaded all my pictures and this one in particular was 924K.

    Thanks for helping me!

mary4c Image sizes want to be as small as you can get them, but still keeping the image quality. Have a look at image_handler mod. as this mod can help with image handing.

As an example on my site a pop-up product image is 31kb, and Featured side box image is 2.8kb.

Sorry, I got dpi and pixels interchanged there.

924K is suitable for framing, not for much for anything else.

In config/images, the max IH Large image width & height is set (mine is 500x750), so anything larger than that is resized by IH. If you resize your images within those constraints (before uploading), then IH does not need to do anything to them (except apply any compression factors (quality setting) that you also set there.

As I said, anything larger than the max displayed (ie 500x750) is not needed and is therefore a waste of space and upload time.

The dpi comes into play only if you scan your own images (it is a compression ratio) and effects the file size (ie 75k) and the quality of the image.

If you need help resizing your images, just PM me and I will try to help, as this is not the place for a tutorial.
