I created a basic tutorial that may help someone with this. It is very basic and does not go into imaging software usage.

This thread is about EZ Populate not photos.
Pick up photosizer or other shareware to automate the sizing process. Unless you have one image the prior stated methods are not well thought out as they will take forever.
Back on topic please
I tried to upload a batch throught the /temp/ area of EP. I uploaded the file via FTP. Then went to Admin and tried to upload the file name into the database. I used it as below:
file_name.txt (the result was an Error)
file_name (the result said upload complete)
But the products are not showing up on the store front. The products are also not showing up when i go into catalog/categories/products.
Any thoughts?

If you installed EZ Pop correctly then you should have an easypop tab on your menu bar in admin. you go down to that tab and export a file of your current inventory.but the products are not showing up on the store front.
THEN you can add to your hearts delight using identical format for any additions you make.
You can then import it using the import link also on same page. Once complete you will get a list of successful imported datafields.
If you uploaded a file and then imported with no joy and it screwed up your inventory then it is highly likely your import was not formatted correctly and you messed the whole thing up. Hopefully you have a backup or you can also manually repair the data by doing another download and fixing the fields accordingly.
The only 2 Easy Pop tabs I have are under admin/tools and admin/config. Didn't think there were any others. All my sites have it that way.
I have got the dataset on the correct format. I used the same spreadsheet (and all data unchanged) to my other Zen Cart Website. The difference is I did my other one by saving my spreadsheet 300 items at a time and uploaded it that way. That takes forever. I know that you can do it by uploading it into the temp/ file via FTP which I did but I don't know why it's not working. I have the pictures in the correct file and everything but still I don't know why it's not working.
My thoughts are now that i have it uploaded to the temp file and then went to admin/tools/EasyPop and uploaded it that there is another step after that... but I'm not sure having never done this before.

Hello - this is a general question about EP - wasn't sure of the proper place to ask, and apologies if this has been asked and answered, but I couldn't find anything like it and the thread is 3000+ posts long!
I've gathered that Easy Populate can be used to import/export inventory info, but can it be set up to automatically import/export changes in inventory (i.e. Sales)? Here's my scenario:
I'm trying to set up an eCommerce book store for a client. He uses an online service called Art of Books which maintains his inventory and automatically updates the info across a large number of venues (Amazon, Biblio, eBay, Half.com, etc) so that when a book sells in one place, the inventory is updated everywhere. It also allows for custom venues, and will send regular interval tab-delimited files (or a number of other formats) to whatever FTP you specify about every 30 minutes to maintain proper inventory.
Can EP be used to set ZenCart up like the other venues mentioned where inventory is automatically changed without any manual interaction?
Or, if not with EP, can ZC even be easily set up to do this (without significant coding)?
Keep in mind I'm a designer, not a programmer/coder in any way. I have set up a few ZenCart sites, but my expertise is limited, and I don't want to spend hours (weeks!) working on this if it's not even possible. Thanks in advance for any help...
Is ther also a way with Zen Cart to have the MSRP price come up so that they can see how much they are saving over retail?
