Trouble editing Page info

you dont perchance have a copy of those files in

includes/languages/english/html_includes/YOUR_TEMPLATE

and what is that set to

also try checking in your /cache folder (actually if you are using 1.3.8 i am not sure you have this functionality) and see what error message are being written there

I do have a copy of it in there but as far as I can tell (from what i understand) is that it doesn't access that file as the file name is as below:

define_main_page.php~

From what i read the '~' makes the fil null and void so to speak. but the file permissions are set to 644.

Also I checked thwe Cache folder and no error message is coming up!

when you are in define pages editor, what files does it say it is editing the file path should appear

Um thats possibly your problem, the files are supposed ton be in the /yourtemplate file

so try copying the ones from th /html_includes/ folder

into the /html_includes/your template/ folder

and make sure they are editable

That is where it says the file location should be. I moved the files over from

/html_includes/

To

/html_includes/your template/

and then when i went to define pages editor the pages are not there for editing.

And the troubling part is that all the other pages are in the same area and all can be edited. Everything else works fine besides the mage page!

So after a lot of playing around I have figured out that the only sheet I can not edit is the main page. I am not sure why but everything else seems to be working fine. When i click save on define_main_page.php it saves the info but will not display it on the actual site. couldit be that I need to 'reactivate' something for it to show up??

you haven't turned it of in admin --> configuration --> define pages I think

HAHAHAHAHAHA Yep!!!! After literally hours of playing around trying to figure this out on the .php back end side it was just turned off!!! LOL Thanks again for the help and sorry about the stupid mistake!
