Regarding the links, I wondered if you have cleared the SSU cache after you upgraded the new version.

If you clear cache and if that solves the issue, you can try to enable link alias and auto alias to see links without identifiers inside, remember you will also have to clear cache again to see the effect
I have changed my settings to:

    ID delimiter -
    Name delimiter -
    File extension html
    Set max category level 0
    Set Link Alias Status true
    Set minimum word length 0
    Set maximum name length 0
    Set SSU Status true
    Set Auto Alias Status true
    Set Category Separator /

I reset the cache and it made no difference. I manually deleted all the files in the SSU cache and then reset the cache in in the admin. After that it made my URL's change from:

    .nintendoparts.com.au/-c-2_5/ds-lite-bottom-lcd-screen-p-2

    to

    .nintendoparts.com.au/-c-2_5/ds-lite-bottom-lcd-screen

Which is a mild improvement. I'd still like to remove the categories all together. I know .html extension is not necessary, but at this stage I want it almost on principle only. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I just want to work out why this mod isn't working 100%

I've also noticed that often after making changes such as after upgrading, and sometimes for no reason at all SSU turns itself off. Even though Set SSU Status = true in admin I have to re-update the SSU status to true to get it to work again. Strange

This is indeed weird, because it has never happened before as you can see your issue is indeed unique if you search this thread.

I suspect something wrong with your current store setting, but I cant say which exact part is wrong unless I look at your files. I cannot offer further help at this stage, if you want you can pm me your admin and ftp temporary login so I can take a look for you, otherwise there is nothing else I can do for you. Sorry
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

Having the same problem with SSU as nintendoparts with category showing up like -c-31 instead of the usual great URLs. Most categories and sub categories show up with the right category name in the url except for two of them which use the category ID. Did you find a solution?

    I'm using ZC 1.3.9f and SSU 3.8.5.

    Thanks,

You may perhaps have the same setting then: note that you cannot set the category depth level less than 1, 1 is the minimum level (for now)

Thanks for all the help yellow1912

I have now set my max category level to '2' and category separator to '-', and I'm now getting nice URL's like:

    .nintendoparts.com.au/ds-lite-screens/ds-lite-bottom-lcd-screen

still can't get .html extensions to work, but this will have to do.

Bummer. My category level is set to 2 so that's not it. All my categories/sub-cats work beautifully except for 2. I'm working on the site offline right now but could make it available if someone can help on this one stinking little problem.

Other than these two sub-categories, I'm loving Simple SEO URLS!!

Right. It's not included in the new version, yet there are other mods (Cross Sell Advanced for one)that still call to this yclass thing. I have had this problem over and over again and the new module manager nor new SSU solve the problem.

The file in question for me was located in includes/classes/yclass.php. If that file is missing, things won't work.

Also, it is VERY confusing/annoying for us users to not get the newest version of mods on the ZenCart site. It should be a requirement IMHO. :]

If I'm understanding correctly you are having issues getting SSU to ignore the delimiters? I have had this problem over and over again as well. I ended up resolving it myself by going to /cache/SSU/ and the following folders:

    aliases
    categories
    pages
    pc
    products

and one by one deleting the entire contents of EACH folder. [it took houuurrrs] If you don't have those folders [I didn't for some reason and SSU kept yelling at me] just do as I did and create them. It helped made SSU behave for me.

Then I made sure my SSU settings in admin were as I wanted.
Then Admin->Extras->SSU Manager and reset all cache.

It sounds like what you already tried, but you never know!

Ok I have been doing quite a bit of digging and I can't seam to find a good initial setup how too for this SEO URL mod.

I have installed everything and did get my site working, but I am having issues now loading my test product page. I end up getting a 404 error with seo set to true. Any info or suggestions would be great. I can pass on url via pm.

Current mods include: Languages (EN,ES,FR,DU,IT), custom template, zen light box, ttp, captcha, image handler 2, sale report.

.htaccess need to go in the folder that it needs to control.
.htaccess RewriteBase or Base needs to be set relative to the folder structure of the domain. If installed in a sub directory of the domain, RewriteBase /subdir/

This has nothing to do with the root /public_html/ in your hosting account just with the location relative to the domains root.

Your domain root might be /public_html/mydomain but test zencart is installed /public_html/mydomain/testzen so .htaccess will be put in /public_html/mydomain/testzen but you have to set RewriteBase /testzen/
    If just /public_html/mydomain/
    it will be RewriteBase /
Every simple seo file and .htaccess needs to be under /public_html/mydomain/ to work. Hope this makes sense to you.
You can post your current .htaccess content here so we can take a look at it. A 404 error is most of the time cause by a .htaccess error.
Is your site Upgraded to the current version 1.5.4 Yet?
