Appreciate the advice but have concerns about upgrading without understanding the implications.
I am still running some older versions of zc, e.g. v1.3.7. I am in the process of upgrading all stores (6 total) to v1.3.9. This has become a very tedious process (my fault for not doing it sooner). I no longer use Fantastico for zc installs. Have graduated to the real thing.
I can update to MySQL 5 in WHM. Have done upgrades before and regretted it. I read that MySQL 5 is not compatible with older versions of zc. Will this cause older versions to stop working before the upgrade is complete? And, will upgrading now, cause other domains on the server to lose database functionality such as older versions of zc.
I am upgrading one at a time to minimize downtime. I am in new territory and still learning as I go, but learning fast.
At this point suggestions and input are very helpful, and your suggestion prompted me to investigate.
My plan is to upgrade older stores to 1.3.9h before updating MySQL.
I am definitely open for an alternative plan. Keep in mind that I am MySQL and PHP challenged but getting much better.
Suggestions or input are always welcome (needed).
Thanks,

I have been a ZenCart fan for over 6 years and plan to continue. I used Fantastico in the past to install the software. That is where I learned about The ZenCart Project.

Someone has edited my post to appear that I installed 1.3.9h via Fantastico implying this may have been the cause of my problem.

If you read the post, this was an attempt to do a fresh install via all of the great documentation on your site and a well run forum.

I spent several hours studying the documentation before attempting my first install (without the crutch). Everything went fine until I received the errors mentioned above. I have used Adobe GoLive for years and Dreamweaver reluctantly.

Based on how the problem was solved, I am assuming that using golive ftp caused the errors during upload. I understood and read that I would need a good ftp program. I have never had issues with golive in passive mode until now. I am a dedicated fan and follower of the ZenCart Project!

You are doing a great job and a good thing and the moderators are great. Hope we do not get into trust issues with posts being edited in an attempt at being deceptive.

Would be great if someone remove (via fantastico) from my post. And of course feel free to remove this post as well when the changes are made.

Thank you very much.

I would like to get on with all of my upgrades.

Respectfully

Given how old some versions you are using are then you would need to upgrade those versions before upgrading to MySQL 5.My plan is to upgrade older stores to 1.3.9h before updating MySQL
This may cause some reverse problems - functions written for MySQL 5 which didn't exist in MySQL 4 - but they're likely to be less than the other way around, and may not exist at all.

Thanks Vger, i was hoping you would say that.
