is there a way to add more than one restriction to a coupon and the coupon actually still work?
i am frustrated, as i have several categories in my store and want to exclude a few of them for the use of the coupon.
thanks in advance

I have a somewhat related problem. I have created two coupons and they apply only to one product each out of about 100 products in about a dozen categories. I have messed around with the restrictions but I just don't understand how the category and product restrictions are supposed to work. Can someone please shed some light on this?
First set a restriction on:
Top category DENY
Next, start adding the Categories and/or Products that are ALLOWED ...
You can mix the Categories and Products on the restrictions ...
By setting the Top Category to DENY then you will only permit what has then been added as an ALLOW to work with the Discount Coupon ...

thank you. i will try this. just to clarify...it doesn't matter which category is first that i choose DENY for, right? it just has to be the first category only that i DENY and then allow any further categories after that?
thanks again:)
I haven't found that it matters ... but I generally do the Top Cat DENY first thing ... then apply the rest of the restrictions ...

I don't really have any idea on how to add more than one restriction to a coupon. But if I were you, I should ask the help of the development team. You should do it now because you wouldn't know if there are people that taking advantage on you. Good luck!
this still didn't work for me. the only way i can add multiple restrictions is on the product restrictions only and have them set to deny. category restrictions set to deny, still do not work?
What do you think you want the Discount Coupon to do ...
What are you actually coding for the Restrictions that are not working ...
What version of Zen Cart are you using?
Clean install or an Upgrade?
