Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Never Mind... I figured it out. It's not simple seo's problem...

Awesome mod! Wasn't sure whether to add it or not, since my site is already live, but it installed no problems.

Only question I have is for my featured products it comes up as mysite/-c-0/product name, which I think is going to throw up some duplicate content flags since the same page will be at mysite/category/product name...

The more I think about it though, may be totally unrelated to simple seo. Don't think the category shows up in product page when you click the link from the featured box. Awesome mod tho! I can't wait to see if there is any increase in search ranks. You can check it out at: www.cheaperbyfar.com

Simple question... does this work on version 1.3.9h?

I have this installed on my 1.3.8a works perfectly with lots of pages indexed i am trying to upgrade to 1.3.9h ... i need this to work because i need to keep all the page names the same (as they are google indexed)

Yes it will work with the current version of zen cart. Download the current version of simple seo. If you are using the current version of simple seo 3.8.8 it doesn not cache half as many files that it use to. You can download it from his site here. Yes I'm afraid module manger is required to use this module.

I have the same exact problem. I had to use a URL shrinker like Hootlet to actually get any newsletter links to actually work. It would not take the SSU version.

I've noticed with SSU that the URL for the 1st page in a category shows the clean URL Alias but if I go to pages 2, 3, 4, etc it doesn't show the Alias. I've even tried going into the Alias manager and taking the old URL and tried to created a new Alias and it still didn't take. Could it be a setting within my SSU Admin?

Here's an example:
First page in category: http://www.a n d r e a b o n e l l i.com/earrings
Second page in same category: http://www.a n d r e a b o n e l l i.com/earrings?sort=20a&page=2

I tried to change the URL in the Alias manager to show:
/earrings-page-2/

and this didn't take..

What could I do to change all of the extra pages in all of my categories to show a new Alias?

Hi,

Not sure what newsletter platform you use and I'm using Mail Chimp.

If you use Mail Chimp as your newsletter mailer, be sure not to have ' google analytic ' checked and it should be okay...

Anyway... just thought if you might be interested in knowing how I got links worked with newsletter.

3. A sample .htaccess file is included. Simply rename to .htaccess and edit the word /shop/ to match your site

Not doing this step as i didn't understand it, would this be the reason the categories links don't work anymore.

If you following Ultimate SEO urls installation instructions and trying to install simple seo url it will not work. Are you trying to install Ultimate SEO urls or Simple Seo URL?
