Hello Skip. A Z-C noob here.
What at great add-in! I haven't installed it yet, but want to know if it contains a RESTORE function?
Hello again Skip. I'm having issues again, hopefully you can try to point me in the right direction.
So we've determined that doing a sitewide backup is causing problems because of the size. I've tried to backup individual directories instead. I have tried both backup and download. Each time it "processes" but then the zip files are completely empty.
Any idea what the problem could be? The bigger file is 8.2MB. Per your suggestion earlier you said it would be best to keep the files between 300-400MB. Thank you.
Hi Skip,
Thank you for the response. I'm not sure how much free space I have. From what I understand it's "unlimited" to allow for flexible disk storage but I would just pay for the overage.
But if I'm downloading the backup without using storage space, this shouldn't be an issue right?
The SQL file is stored in admin/backup as default and then added to the zip file for download or on site storage. It will remain there until it is deleted by you.
If you use gzip or tar a tmp file is created before the file is completed. This will use up free space.
So what I am saying is that you would need free space of at least twice the size of your sql & files to run safely.
If you backup just your admin folder and store it on the server do you get a zip file? Use a ftp program and download the zip file is it bad?

SQl file...until I delete? I don't get it.Tell me how I do this. I don't delete anything...maybe that's my problem?
I have tried to run my admin directory, its 7.66MB and I get the same results. I will get a 1KG zip file with 22 Bytes. I can tranfer the file via FTP then when I try to unzip it or view the file it's corrupted.
Using your ftp utility look at you admin/backup folder you should see a sql file for every time you have run backup zc with the sql backup option selected. Depending on your settings in backup zc the files could have an extension of .sql or sql.zip.
Are the files all about the same size or do you see the newer files are smaller?
