Side box not showing

I am attempting to add my own sidebox.
I created a .php file and added the code I wanted for it.
I went and placed it at the top right side from the admin page.
When I check the site, the box doesn't appear, and all boxes below it disappear.

Where am I going wrong?

Not sure why you are trying to reinvent the wheel?

In the Downloads section there is a "Blank Sidebox" module which should do what you want. If not, at least you can see how the file structure is done and use that as base for structuring your own. :wink:

Seems I am screwed now.

Uploaded the files, and now I can't login to the admin area.
Deleted the files and still can't login.
Tried reset password and still can't login.

Keep getting wrong username and password.

I finally fixed the admin login problem.

I got the blank box to appear.
I was able to edit the title of the box.

When I add the code, the entire right side disappears again.

That would indicate a syntax / coding error in whatever you are doing. Time to recheck your work.

It would appear that the blank box install was ok, because it appears when I activate it telling me to edit the files to add my content.

I am trying to add a Live Help button in the box using the below code:

This is just a copy and paste into the file, but when I add the code, the right side then disappears.

Not sure what the cause is.

There is already sidebox for chat in downloads area at

I'll check it out tomorrow, but was hoping to use the chat I already have. Don't know this chat.

You have syntax errors.

As you are putting the HTML code within PHP code, you cannot use single quotes for the HTML; that's not correct anyway so not sure why it is done that way. Use double quotes instead.

i.e.

Well I tried the crafty mod, and couldn't get any icons to show in the box.

I tried changing the ' to ", and same result.

I did work around it and get it going.

I created a chat.html file and add the above code I am using to it.
I then edited the blank box mod and used <Iframe src="http://www.stuffupforgrab.com/chat.html" width="130" height="65"></Iframe>

All good now.

A bit of a work around, but thanks for your time guys and gals.
