USPS shipping amounts too high

I installed the USPS module (I updated to the May 18th module) and every single shipping amount it gets is high by at least 20%. All of the weights are correct and when I call the post office to get a rate based on the same exact zip codes and weights, they give me a much lower number than their server is coming back with.

I called USPS and they said it's a problem with how Zencart is calculating it but I'm having a hard time believing that is the real problem.

Any ideas?

In short... is it POSSIBLE the problem could be in Zencart or is it a USPS problem? Isn't the rate calculated on their server?

Just in case...when in the admin screen and you go to:

...Configuration / Shipping-Packaging

For the option:
"Package Tare Small to Medium - added percentage:weight" do you have it say 0:0 ?

"Larger packages - added packaging percentage:weight" do you have it say 0:0 ?

Man, I'll tell you the truth. I had no CLUE what those options meant.

I set them both to 0:0, and we're good to go.
