Would Like to Remove // Comments

Hi All,
While some SEO work I realized that there is a lot of development comments in the source. Is there a simple way to remove all of this? I would rather not go through every zencart file to delete all of the file //comments.

Thanks in advance,
John

Re: Would Like to Remove // Comments

Well - first, double slashed comments are in the php and they don't show in your page source anyway. HTML comments do show in the source and they are <!-- -->

There is no "easy" way to remove them except to go through each file. Enjoy!

PS - I have to ask ... Why do you think it is necessary?

Re: Would Like to Remove // Comments

Hi Kim,
Thanks for the reply. Some one told me today that they saw an area in the source that said "un comment to use this section" or something very close to that.

Why am I doing this. . .
I am trying to improve the code to text ratio. Since every little bit can add up to a lot I will be going through and removing every little bit. I'm sure I will not enjoy.

Thanks again,
John

Interesting ... You realize that means you have to go through every single template file and any that you touch you need to put in your overrides directory?

I think I would find more productive things to do. JMHO

Re: Would Like to Remove // Comments

I do agree with bumbaa in that it would be 'cleaner' to remove all unnecessary comments but my OCD just about lets me get away with not going through every single file!
