Backing up your site

I have looked through all the menu items in Admin as well as searched the forums. When backing up your site, is there a utility in Admin to do this? Or do I simply do it via my hosting control panel?

Re: Backing up your site

Vito -

When I backup my site it involves two things for me:

  1. Backing up the contents of the CODE for my site. I accomplish this through my control panel for my web host. Alternatively, you could create an archive of the root of your shopping cart folder and all children folders... then FTP that down to your local machine.

  2. I always make a backup copy of my database too!

Best of luck,
~Eric

Re: Backing up your site

remember that the downloads of full folder backups counts against your bandwidth...

you really dont need to backup the FILES all that often,
make sure you have 1 good set and then you only need to backup when you make actual file changes, ( and then you only need to replace those files ) however backing up the DB should be done daily.

and there is a utility in the downloads section for backing up the DB
