Uh oh! Upgrade Keeps Only Database Intact

Sigh...am in trouble now. I went to my cPanel and clicked on the upgrade to 1.3.8a and now the site looks like a fresh install of ZC but all of the products are still there. Everything else is gone!

I had done a full backup of the site right before. Should I simply do a restore or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you looked to see if your template (if you used a custom one) is available - try switching it on thru admin if it is there.

Before the upgrade, did you follow the override system to protect your template modifications?

Thanks for the quick response. No, there is no custom template and I had forgotten about the override system. ZC was simply working and I hadn't really touched it for a year. :(

Since you have a full store backup, you can compare the files that were changed in the previous version, merge the changes from the previous to the new version and you should be able to get your customizations back!

Isn't there usually a fantastico file installed in the root directory that is used by cpanel to track the upgrades? Maybe making a note to remove this file would help just in case people forget and go to click that upgrade button. Just a thought if you're installing this for someone else and then they are taking over the admin stuff.
