subdomain

I have created a subdomain .... but I am not sure how to get it going.
Bascially I am just going to use it to show people how their site would look with the headers bg etc I create for them. right now I have been using the new site I made but I would really like to be doing this in a subdomain.

new site is www.wraporscrapgraphics.com
and then sub is new.wraporscrapgraphics.com

ty for your time

Re: subdomain

I'd suggest you just install the second Zencart installation into a folder on the main site (https://www.wraporscrapgraphics.com/new rather than a subdomain. Create a new database for the second installation, too.

Re: subdomain

ugh still having a terible time.
Can't get zen installed right.
So far it is stuck at the database... keeps saying it can't find it. I talked to my host but they want $50 to install it. Just one of those days I guess:(

Hi,
This might be a silly question, but did you actually create a subdomain on your site admin before you did your install?
Did you then create the database on your site admin, again before you did the install?
Or rather before you tried to do the install?

Re: subdomain

Let's go back to make sure I understand what you want to do.

You have a Zencart installation installed at https://www.wraporscrapgraphics.com.

You want a second Zencart installation to demo changes for clients.

Did you install the original Zencart installation manually, or did you do it through Fantastico?

If you did it manually, the process of installing the new one would be exactly the same, only you'd upload the files to the subdirectory folder after you create it.

If you did it through Fantastico (always a mistake, in my opinion), you will need to create the second database in your site's control panel before you start installing Zencart.
