Carts been working a few months, now sudden changes in prices.... HELP PLEASE ASAP

My cart has been running fairly smoothly with a few exceptions. But the thing I am not understanding is why the prices have suddenly changed.

The net and gross prices are different and I need them to be the same. They are suddenly different than they are supposed to be.

Also I cannot get the taxes to appear for texas

and now customers are reporting they cannot add their billing address.

The address for this cart is http://www.horsemask.com/Cart

If there is anyone that might know what is happening here can I please get a tip or two to fix this?

The site is live so I need to fix this asap, what am I doing wrong here?

Re: Carts been working a few months, now sudden changes in prices.... HELP PLEASE ASAP

I did the math on this and the tax is what is causing the gross price to rise but I only want for it to charge tax for texas. Any ideas?

I'm going to temporarily set the tax zone for texas with zero taxes because its messing up all the prices.

You've probably incorrectly built your Texas zone, most likely applying it to the entire USA instead of just Texas.

ummm.... ok I don't recall "building" anything in the way of a Texas zone, forgive me my ignorance but how, or where would I check this? Can you please elaborate?

Admin->Locations/Taxes->Zone Definitions
You likely have a zone created there for "Texas".
If you click on the "Details" button, have you told it which states to include? ie: only United States: Texas ?
If you've not told it what the zone applies to, then the zone applies to the entire world.

OK, under Zone Definitions - Taxes, Payment and Shipping I have:

Zone name: Texas
Zone Description: Texas local sales tax zone

When I click on details, I have:

Country: United States
Zone: Texas

But even though US is selected, it changes the prices on all the products gross to include the tax.

Time to back up a few steps.

When did this all start happening?
What else was going on at that time?
What's changed on the server?
What has your hosting company changed? ie: maybe changed PHP or MySQL versions?
Have you installed any addons?
Have you made any configuration changes in your admin area?

What exactly is different on the server since before there was a problem, vs now ?

Ok, I have had the problem with the taxes since day one but only in that it wouldn't charge for texas. Since then I left it alone and have been trying to read and find anything to help. No avail.

I am with the same hosting company, and they did change the MySQL and upgraded, however nothing changed after that upgrade and it has been well over a month now.

There are no addons and there is only one change I made which was I found another tax zone in definitions I believe, and I cannot remember exactly what it was labeled but it was I think all zones or world.

I thought that this might be the problem and removed it, and this is when we received a canadian order that was wrong in the prices. The prices were including the texas tax.

So I turned the texas tax amount to zero until this is figured out.

The only other thing that customers are complaining about is not being able to add their billing address, however I have made no changes to reflect anything of a sort. Nor have I made any configuration changes.

I suggest double-checking all your tax details. From your earlier post, it appears that your "texas" zone definition is probably correct. Why it's taxing everyone is not clear.

I have gone over this with a fine tooth comb and the only thing I could find that might help was this selection

Display Prices With Tax-Admin

I had this set to "true" and changed it to "false" and the prices went back to normal. I still do not know if it will charge tax on Texas however.
