What is 'voiding order authorizations'?

I installed paypal express yesterday, and find the order information page at admin part is a little different.

I have no idea what 'voiding order authorizations' means, what do I use it for?

Re: What is 'voiding order authorizations'?

An "authorization" is when you don't actually collect funds right away, but only put a hold on them. Voiding is used to release the hold if you don't intend to actually collect the funds.
Most people don't use "authorize-only" mode, so don't need to use the Void option.
