Popup image size

Hello,

Ive set up zen cart loads of times but for some unknown reason i cant get the popup image on the product page to be bigger, its only slighly.

When i click 'larger image' it doesnt, and i have calc size set to true.

Which setting is it in the admin config images?

What size is the image you uploaded?
That is the size that will display in the pop-up from the product page.

Re: Popup image size

I am having the same issue except the image is larger on the server but it seems tied to the Small Image Height and Width

Path to image: http://nealmoser.com/store/images/1%20Kahler%20Hybrid%20black.jpg
Path to product: http://www.nealmoser.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_14_15&products_id=241

Clicking on the larger image link will give an 80x100 image. If I change the small image size (Images) then it will display that size.

Thanks,

Andy

Re: Popup image size

What do you think the path and name is for your:

1 small image as added via the Product Add/Edit ...

2 medimum image as added via FTP ...

3 large image as added via FTP ...

I am seeing:
/images/1_kahler_2315_black.jpg

being used for all 3 of these ...

NOTE: am many of your products you have spaces ... filenames should not contain spaces and other special characters ...

I am not sure what your naming convention is for your images ...

Re: Popup image size

Linda, the client named and added all the pictures. Granted they need some education on proper naming, but in their previous cart (1.2.x) one image uploaded through the new product process worked for both small and large. Is this no longer the case?

I'm confused about this.

Has the process changed and now one needs to upload multiple pictures for each product naming them image_small, image_medium, image_large in order for the larger image link to work?

As an experiment to fix this issue before coming to you, we put the same picture in the 3 folders but it still did not show as a larger image when the link was clicked even though it is not sized 100x80 on the server. Actual size is 600 x 450.

Re: Popup image size

While you can use 1 image for everything, this is a real waste of bandwidth and load time for the pages ...

/images <--- main image
/images/medium <--- 1 medium image for the Product _info page
/images/large <--- Large Image for when clicking on the image on the Product _info page

/images <--- additional images
/images/large <---- additional large images

This allows you to have small images at 1 to 10k for the product throughout the shop and then the larger image for when people want to see the larger image ... it saves a lot of time and looks better as the files are not squished or stretched ...

Loading the image files with FTP is used for all of the images except for the base image of the Product, which can be loaded when adding/editing a product ...

You might search the FAQs on images to learn more about the images for products and how to use them ...

Linda,

Thanks for spelling it out for me! That makes a lot of sense.

Re: Popup image size

I, too, had this problem with version 1.3.8 but recently found the way to fix it is to make an alteration on the template file(includes/templates/template_default/popup_image/tpl_main_page.php. Change the function on line 17 from zen_image to zen_image_OLD. This fixed the problem for me.

Re: Popup image size

Just to let everyone know, this fix still works in version 1.3.9h (when I did my upgrade, I accidently overwrote this file and had to fix)

Re: Popup image size

And here I am, AGAIN, over 4 years later, with the same problem (having just - at long last - made the move to 1.5.1). Found my way here, AGAIN. Tried this "_OLD" thing AGAIN, and it works AGAIN. Thanks AGAIN to Andy/jaxbakers. Cheers! Don.
