Free Shipping for Categories

I have my site set up as categories (i.e. Apples, Cows, Canisters, Halloween, etc). I want to offer Free Shipping for an entire category for a limited time and then switch it back to charging the shipping.

example - Run a 3-Day Free Shipping for Halloween Items with normal shipping for all other items on the site.

Is this possible? I have searched the postings and the tutorial and can't find this.

Do you use Linked Products?

If not, you could use the Discount Coupon for Free Shipping and set the one Category on that coupon ...

If you use Linked Products, then you would need to add the Products separately to the Discount Coupon, at this time ...

I've created a restriction for free shipping, and I've added the particular category for this free shipping Discount Coupons, but I still get shipping charges calculated :no:

This is where adding each Product separately to the Discount Coupon that is allowed to use the Free Shipping will work around this problem, for now ...

Now I set Products individually into Discount Coupon, but I'm still getting Shipping Charges calculated. What went wrong :frusty:

Charges get calculated, then removed at the checkout_confirmation when the Discount Coupon is setup for Free Shipping ...
