I can't login...help please!

I’ve been reading the forums all day but I’m still confused. I’m using Window’s Vista, Lunar Pages is my hosting company, I’ve reinstalled Zen Cart 1.3.8a 4 times, I created a Zen Cart MySQL database, I have a valid e-mail account and a user name and password. I still can’t log into Zen Cart. I’m really confused, there’s more coding with the program than I thought and I’m not familiar with it at all. I read over the FAQ’s and followed the steps on how to install Zen Cart and still nothing. Not sure what else I need to do. Help please!! :shocking:

Re: I can't login...help please!

So you installed zencart via Fantastico on your domain
control panel?
If so this is why you may be having problems..
Safer to download zencart and install yourself..

Re: I can't login...help please!

Dont forget to remove via Fantastico, cart you have installed..
also make new database, named differently than one before...
otherwise going to get confusing for you.

Re: I can't login...help please!

Hi all! I'm also a newbie. I've installed and uninstalled the zen-cart via Fantastico, several times now. I have successfully installed and uninstalled, including removing the sql database. It's now installed and all set, however, my issue is one or two of the following:

  1. when I try to go into my admin, it prompts me to log in. which I can log in, however, I'm not taken to my zen-cart admin, it gives me error message:{Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.8 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at https://www.shop.optigeoterra.com Port 80}

therefore, I'm not allowed to even see how my admin looks like.

the #2 problem I'm thinking, and please correct me if I'm wrong, is it because I've installed my zen-cart under my subdomain?
I really do want to install it under subdomain.

My cPanel host indicated that this is running fine on their end. where or what went wrong? I cannot see my zen-cart admin.

btw - I have bought the zen-cart tutorial book. none of this, in case, error message is mentioned in the book.

any help is greatly appreciated. thanks =)
