Consistent 100x100 background to category images?

Hey gang,

All my category images came from a vendor. There are thousands of them.

My issue is that they are not a consistent size, widths and heights vary from 50 to 100. What I'd like to do is display a simple white background under each category image to make the display somewhat homogenous. I'm sure there's a way to do this, but I can figure it out. Is this simple? Is there an add-on I can borrow this from?

ZC works with images using algorithms to adjust the aspect ratios, depending on what settings are chosen for max witdth and max height.

As this is a problem with the base images, the only thing I can suggest is to re-work the images in an image editor - such as layering the image onto a standard 100X100 background.

Thanks. I can certainly do that with a batch image processor. My difficulty comes in when the vendor sends us new images. Our data is loaded dynamically by FTP... As new images come in, they would also need to be edited... Since they are loaded automatically I'd have to process them on our server at the same time... (At 3AM...)

I think I'll need to find a Linux based editor that can do this for me on a scheduled basis.

Image Handler 2 (see above Free Add ons link) might do what you want.
