Canada Post Module - problem with inches vs centimetres

We've installed the Canada Post Module, and most of it seems to be working correctly. But we can't get the dimension units to 'stick' properly on the product pages.

The module has added some options to the product pages:

TEXT_PRODUCTS_WEIGHT_UNITS  	() UNITS_KGS  () UNITS_LBS
TEXT_PRODUCTS_DIM_UNITS 	() UNITS_CM () UNITS_IN

... but no matter how many times I select KGS and CM with the radio buttons, the setting is not maintained, and it defaults to LBS and IN.

I've searched all over for some kind of 'master' setting that must be affecting this, but can't find it ... What am I doing wrong?
