How can i change the description of the month

I want to change the description of the month, in my home page.

When it says: "New products in October" i want to change the word "October"

The month is output with a PHP time/date function, in this case specifying the current month name.

Because i am using the Spainsh language in the english version.

So because of that i want to translate the mouth the english to spanish.

I would think that PHP has the ability to output months in other languages... that sounds like research in PHP forums or tutorial sites is your best bet (unless someone here knows already.)
There should be a switch that tells PHP what language it is operating in.
