Print shipping labels...

When I prep to ship a package, I can print the invoice, I can print the packing slip, but can't seem to print a customized shipping label to stick to the shipping box unless I use either USPS or Canada Post etc.

Has anyone created a way to do this and I'm just not finding it? :unsure:

What I want is a one button click that will create a document, that shows my company logo in the top left corner and the customer's shipping address which I can then stick to their box.

Currently, I have to go into Word to create one and it seems to me quite a simple thing to do from Zen...

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Print shipping labels...

You might check in the downloads area...
I recall one module that allowed the use of a paid service for labels and there might others

Re: Print shipping labels...

Supoer Orders has an option to print a shipping label. I don't use it, but it's there.

I can not stay fully current on what each module does or does not do...

Isn't the community wonderful!!!!

Re: Print shipping labels...

Here is a start to what you want. Hopefully others can improve upon this.

In Admin/Orders.php, I added a shipping button next to the invoice and packing slip buttons.

Here are the file changes.
In Includes/filenames.php

define('FILENAME_ORDERS_SHIPPINGLABLE', 'shippinglable');

In Admin/Orders.php
Added to this block of text (around line 602)

<?php echo
		'<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ORDERS_INVOICE, 'oID=' . $_GET['oID']) . '" TARGET="_blank">' . zen_image_button('button_invoice.gif', IMAGE_ORDERS_INVOICE) . '</a>
		<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ORDERS_PACKINGSLIP, 'oID=' . $_GET['oID']) . '" TARGET="_blank">' . zen_image_button('button_packingslip.gif', IMAGE_ORDERS_PACKINGSLIP) . '</a>
		<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ORDERS_SHIPPINGLABLE, 'oID=' . $_GET['oID']) . '" TARGET="_blank">' . zen_image_button('button_shippinglable.gif', IMAGE_ORDERS_SHIPPINGLABLE) . '</a>
		<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ORDERS, zen_get_all_get_params(array('action'))) . '">' . zen_image_button('button_orders.gif', IMAGE_ORDERS) . '</a>'; ?>

and around line (869)

	    $contents[] = array('align' => 'center', 'text' =>
		'<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ORDERS_INVOICE, 'oID=' . $oInfo->orders_id) . '" TARGET="_blank">' . zen_image_button('button_invoice.gif', IMAGE_ORDERS_INVOICE) . '</a>
		<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ORDERS_PACKINGSLIP, 'oID=' . $oInfo->orders_id) . '" TARGET="_blank">' . zen_image_button('button_packingslip.gif', IMAGE_ORDERS_PACKINGSLIP) . '</a>
		<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_ORDERS_SHIPPINGLABLE, 'oID=' . $oInfo->orders_id) . '" TARGET="_blank">' . zen_image_button('button_shippinglable.gif', IMAGE_ORDERS_SHIPPINGLABLE) . '</a>');

Created file Admin/Shippinglable.php (actually started from packingslip.php and modified). The code below is just the "body" I made no changes to the head section. This file is not formatted yet as I still need to work with my client on their specific label size, printer, etc.

<table width="400" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
  <tr>
    <td colspan="2" class="main"><?php echo nl2br(STORE_NAME_ADDRESS); ?></td>
 <!--       <td class="pageHeading" align="right"><?php echo zen_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . HEADER_LOGO_IMAGE, HEADER_ALT_TEXT); ?></td> -->
    <td width="103"> </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td width="83" valign="top" class="formAreaTitle"> </td>
    <td width="214" class="main"> </td>
    <td> </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td valign="top" class="formAreaTitle"><b>SHIP TO:</b></td>
    <td class="main"><?php echo zen_address_format($order->delivery['format_id'], $order->delivery, 1, '', '<br>'); ?></td>
    <td> </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td> </td>
    <td> </td>
    <td> </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td bordercolor="#000000"> </td>
    <td colspan="2" bordercolor="#000000"> </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td height="19" colspan="2" bordercolor="#000000"><div align="center">UPS GROUND TRACK</div></td>
    <td rowspan="2" bgcolor="#000000"> </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td height="23" colspan="2" bordercolor="#000000"><div align="center">Tracking Number</div></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td> </td>
    <td> </td>
    <td> </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td height="68" colspan="3"><div align="center">BAR CODE HERE</div></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td colspan="3"> </td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td height="76" colspan="3"> </td>
  </tr>
</table>

Finally created new button: Admin/includes/languages/english/images/buttons/button_shippinglable.gif.

Can anyone create a button that matches the text style of the other buttons on the Order page?

Well, its a start. I hope others can add some insight and suggestions.

Admin/includes/languages/english/images/buttons/button_shippinglable.gif.

I also wanted something like this. Would it be possible to share the button? Perhaps a web URL to the graphic? Oh, speaking of which I think you might have a typo: Admin/includes/languages/english/images/buttons/button_shippinglable.gif. (wouldn't it be button_shippinglabel.gif?)

Copy and remove space paste into your browser address bar, right click the image and save

Re: Print shipping labels...

Don't mind at all, Kobra.

I did not like the look of the first button I made (probably because I only spent about 5 minutes on it) I created one with UPS logo instead.
The link from Kobra is the UPS logos:

Here is the original quickie button (with typo corrected).
