my personal images linked with home

I was trying to put a logo and image on my home page. I am a real newbie about this. I tried to do ftp a bit, but I guess that I have to read up more on this. But first, I have to fix this. I deleted my home banner, but after going into ftp and entering header_bg.jpg into the sectionincludes/templates/my_templates and also public_html/includes/templates/classic/images/header_bg.jpg now, when you click on my website, and click under the home, where this another word-home-you right click that text-home- and it will be linked to all the images in your computer. please help, someone.
but, if you can help, please be very user-friendly as I am not that great at this...thank you in advance....pamela

Re: my personal images linked with home

It's rather difficult making head or tail of what you are trying to say, but here's my advice for now.

The header graphics are set up in zencart to be a "combination" of two images.

The first is a BACKGROUND image, and the second is your LOGO image.

In a standard install of zencart, the BACKGROUND image is called: header_bg.jpg. It measures 760 X 100 pixels, and looks like this:-

As this is a background image, you can OVERLAY a logo on top of it, and this is what ZC does.

The standard ZC overlaid logo is called logo.gif, measures 192 X 64 pixels, and is aligned LEFT in the header wrapper. (This left alignment is governed in the stylesheet.)

Some people do away with the background image altogether, and just use a logo. This decision depends a lot on what you want to do in the header - graphics wise.

The SIZE of the images you use is important, and they must be sized to fit into the pixel widths and heights of the wrapper. That's why I give the sizes above - the width of the mainWrapper in a standard install is 750 pixels, so the header_bg is marginally larger at 760 pixels. This small "bleed" ensures that the header fills the frame, leaving no blank areas.

BOTH images live in the TEMPLATE'S images folder (not the main folder for images).

Now, changin the images is easy.

Just create your own images (in an image editor) for header_bg.jpg and logo.gif, remembering that logo.gif should not be wider or higher than the setting in your stylesheet for wrappers - and you'll be fine. FTP them to your template's images folder, overwriting ZC's standard images.
