new store upgrade password confusion

I am currently upgrading from 1.3.7 to 1.3.8a and my new store is in its new directory waiting to be moved into its permanent home. I'm wanting to upgrade the database, and on the upgrade screen it says

" Database Security. Your Administrator username/password (the one that you use to access your shop Admin area) are required in order to make database changes. *(This is NOT your MySQL password)"

• I know this may seem like a stupid question, but... since I haven't yet got this new shop up and running, surely it doesn't have a username or password assigned to the admin side yet? If I use the username and password of my "current" site, won't that wipe my current database, leaving the new site untouched? How do I find the username and password for the new shop?

Apologies if these are stupid questions, but I am not going to risk losing my database just because I didn't ask. Surely that would be stupider :blush:

Although it may be more correct to say:

"the one that will be used to access your shop Admin area"

It is presumed people know that whatever login information they input is what will be used.

In your case it doesn't matter anyway. Soon as you Import your previous database then whatever login information you were using before is what will be used from then on.
