Customer Email is not Added to the Newsletter

For some reason when a customer create an account their email address in not added the Newsletter. I signed up as a customer to verify that. My name shows up in the new customer on the admin page but the email is not added to the Newsletter. Does anyone know which file might be affected so I can go through and check that file to the Zen Cart Original files.

Re: Customer Email is not Added to the Newsletter

When you create a new account, is the newsletter option shown to the customer? Is the checkbox checked?
What template are you using on your site?
What version of Zen Cart?
What addons have you installed?
What have you selected for newsletter defaults in Admin->Configuration->Customer Details?

Re: Customer Email is not Added to the Newsletter

Hi Dr Byte,

I've a similar problem. I've used 3 different emails to sign up as 3 customers and all checked the newsletter subscription box. All 3 are added to customers list but none in the newsletter subscription list.

Kindly help!

  1. When you create a new account, is the newsletter option shown to the customer? Is the checkbox checked? ==> YES
  2. What template are you using on your site? ==>Custom Template
  3. What version of Zen Cart? ==> 1.3.8a
  4. What addons have you installed? ==> How did you hear about us; newsletter subscribe; back_in_stock notification; login box 1.5; dropdown DOB support; DIRbank; Flat Shipping Clone; cc_accept
  5. What have you selected for newsletter defaults in Admin->Configuration->Customer Details? ==> 2 for html

thks in advance!!

Sounds like a problem with the newsletter_subscribe addon you've installed.
Sorry, I'm not "up" on all its intricacies ... I do remember it being a complicated mod to integrate though.
