Paypal payment not being received but order completes

I set up a new cart on a site and tested it by placing an order via Paypal Express. Everything went fine. It took me back to my site's success page, ZC sent me a welcome email as well as a receipt. And I see that the order shows up in my Admin panel.

Here's the problem. No money transaction takes place. As the buyer, no funds are deducted from my account. And as the vendor, nothing comes in to my account.

How can this be?

I need to add more info here.

In Paypal, I have the API set up OK and ZC installed (and processing payments properly) in one of my sites. Let's call it site1. The API signature username is something like info_api1.site1.com All is good.

However, I am now trying to get a second site up and running using the same PP account. Let's call it site2. So when configuring the Paypal Express module in site2, do I use the same API credentials? Or do I need to use something like info_api1.site2.com? As far as I can see, PP only allows me to create one set of credentials.

Hmm. If this helps to figure it out, when I look at the details of the order in ZC admin, it shows method of payment as Credit Card. Huh? I paid using the PP express checkout button. (Confused)

If it was recorded as paid by CC and not by paypal, then it didn't actually send the order to paypal to collect payment.

Do you have the "Credit Card" module "installed" but "disabled"?
It's wise to ONLY install modules you're actually using, and all others should be uninstalled (click "Remove" button).
There have been occasional reports of this kind of problem when modules are not fully removed.

This is very similar to my problem.

I had a custom payment module--Bank Transfer-- setup for a specific zone -- Indonesia.

The PEC process seems to be normal except that no PEC transaction is created. The resulting order is tagged using the customer payment module type, eventhough the order is from a different zone--US.

This is very confusing to customers because they have entered their CC information and correct address and no errors are presented to them. It then becomes odd to explain to them that their payment didn't go through.

Does this mean that other payment modules can't be used when PEC is enabled?
