Error when i click on the "Home" Link

How do i make it so that index.php is used as default when i access a URL such as https://www.mydomain.com/catalog/

at the moment im getting an error message

Directory Listing Denied

This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

I do not really understand the issue here. The link seems to be working. Is php installed correctly on your site?

At the moment i have .php .php3 & .phps installed on my host admin settings. Could these be confilicting?
If i enter in the URL https://www.mydomain.com/catalog/index.php i do get the home page. But the link button on the home page or any other page is setup to be www.mydomain/catalog so im assuming that it should load the index.php file by default.

Another issue that was similar to this one.

When i installed Zen Carts. The instructions say to enter
https://www.mydomain.com/catalog/zc_install/ once again this should open the index.php file by default.

When i installed zen carts myself i had to enter
https://www.mydomain.com/catalog/zc_install/index.php

If anyone can help that would be great.
