Updating new cart with old

I'm trying to update zen cart from 1.3.7 (db 1.3.7) to zen cart 1.3.8a (db 1.3.8) - php 4.3.11. Because the older cart was done with Fantastico, and was not really done correctly, I decided to just do a new install (without Fantastico) in another directory. However, I'm having problems importing the original backed-up database with all the products and customer files, into the new database (1.3.8). I backed it up through phpMyAdmin and it's on GoDaddy hosting. The error I'm getting when I try to import the backup is: Error No data was received to import. Either no file name was submitted, or the file size exceeded the maximum size permitted by your PHP configuration. See Faq 1.16. The max size is 2,048KB...is there any way around this? How do I change the max size? The FAQ wasn't helpful at all. Thanks in advance.
