Re: integrate a cookbook site into Zen Cart

What is it you are seeking when you say "integrate"...???

ZenCart can be used as a CMS with pages for recipies and all within it's self...

Re: integrate a cookbook site into Zen Cart

I think I understand that what you want is an eCommerce site that also has a (free) recipe database, is that correct?

Re: integrate a cookbook site into Zen Cart

Simplest way: add a link to the recipe site as an EZpage. Both sites will have to be maintained separately and will continue to have separate databases. Check the Holzheimer's site in my sig and look for the "important links" box to see how it would work.

If you truly want to integrate the sites and put all the info in the Zen Cart database, you could create a category called "recipes" or "cookbook" and create the recipes with the product type "document general" which doesn't require things a regular product would require (price, weight, shipping). To see "document general" in use, check my nephew's site in my sig and is an example of what kobra was talking about. All the "products" there are "document general".

HTH!

Cool afo, I didn't know that you could do that, cool, that would work for romy with a little ingenuity.

Re: integrate a cookbook site into Zen Cart

Yup, it'll work either way, so depending on how much (or little) work romy wants to do, the recipes can be accessed from the ZC site.

Yes...So if you go to pirateguild.com and click the cookbook link..you will see the cookbook.pirateguild.com site in the center and will be able to add and view recipes.

Re: integrate a cookbook site into Zen Cart

Sounds like you are looking for a wrapper that will display another site in the main_page are of the site. I am sure that is possible, but I don'w know how. I'll bet that there is someone here that does.

Install wordpress mod for zencart..you can then integrate
into front page as shown at url you quoted above..
i.e. demo at
http://www.dezinashop.com/demo/
3 wordpress blog posts on main index page.
