386000 Queries Checkout Confirmation Taking Forever (v1.3.7)

Hi, I have a customer with 76 items in her cart and she has a simple coupon applied to her order. She goes to the checkout confirmation page, and it says this at the bottom:

Parse Time: 94.404 - Number of Queries: 386926 - Query Time: 81.477367542846

It is taking FOREVER to load. Does anyone know what the problem would be. The coupon is a very simple one. It simply gives a flat discount on her order without any restrictions.

If the coupon isn't applied, it loads fine:
Parse Time: 1.291 - Number of Queries: 4629 - Query Time: 0.99152225732422

Here's the configuration for the coupon:

What can I do to fix this? It's driving me crazy. Not to mention the load rate on my server is through the roof.

Do these products have lots of attributes?

(And your zen version is?)

Not a single product has an attribute. I'm running 1.3.7. I still think it has something do with the coupon. When the coupon isn't applied, I don't have this problem. The same thing happens with different coupons as well.

Say if you limit the number of products on the order to 10, does this happen?

Did you install any module? Which ones?

Here's the breakdown with 10 products on checkout confirmation

With Coupon:
Parse Time: 1.858 - Number of Queries: 5177 - Query Time: 1.559697796524

Without Coupon:
Parse Time: 0.296 - Number of Queries: 664 - Query Time: 0.13067283097839

I have a few mods, but none really on the checkout process. The only one I can think of that would affect checkout process files is Checkout w/o account.

Just to satisfy our curiosity - can you replace the checkout with the stock one and test again?

I ran it on a stock install. Here's the results

w/o coupon:
Parse Time: 0.632 - Number of Queries: 1318 - Query Time: 0.27100081842041

With coupon
Parse Time: 0.862 - Number of Queries: 1545 - Query Time: 0.38015111477661

I would try and remove those modules, but I can't mess with my site right now. I'm having a bunch of people ordering from a group and I don't want to disrupt anything. I'm thinking about just wiping my store and redoing it from the beginning. I've been having problems with orders showing blank as well. Maybe I've made too many changes to it. But, if anyone has an idea for quick fix of what might be causing it, I'd love to have some advice.

You said you are running v1.3.7 with the 664 to 5177 jump ...

Did you do your test site with v1.3.7 or with v1.3.8a?

The test site was 1.3.8a.

Are you familiar with how to do a quick copy of your Live Site database to your Test Database and run the /zc_install and run the Upgrade on the database ...

Or, do a quick install of the exact version of Zen Cart for your test site that you are running now just to see the apples to apples comparisson ...

There is a minor change like you saw in v1.3.8a from no coupon to with coupon ...

I have not been able to reproduce the dramatic change like you are showing in v1.3.7 but I don't have handy a v1.3.7 at the moment in which to test this ...

And rather than torture me ... I thought it would be more fun to torture you on this test ... :cool:

Ok, I ran it on a stock 1.3.7 with the sample products

w/o coupon:
Parse Time: 1.395 - Number of Queries: 1815 - Query Time: 0.89222941107178

w/ coupon
Parse Time: 17.926 - Number of Queries: 16296 - Query Time: 15.297104630585

It seems there is a bug in 1.3.7

Can I apply the 1.3.8 fix to 1.3.7? Is there a specific change I can make? Thanks for all the help!!!!!!!

Ok, I replaced the 1.3.7 ot_coupon.php file with the 1.3.8 file.

It gave me a divide by zero error on this line:
$ratioTax = $adjustedTax/$order->info['tax'];

So, I replaced it with this:
$ratioTax = '0';

We don't charge tax anyway.

It seems to work just fine. Do you think I will be able to get away with this without any problems?

You may want to do a compare of a clean v1.3.7 and v1.3.8a plus the Known Bug Fixes at:

and see if it wouldn't be easier to apply the upgrade ...

Otherwise, you can do the compare to see if there are other things that may be affecting the checkout, coupons etc.
