"Add this to your cart" button not working

Hi, I think I have a bit of a strange error here, when I select an item and click "Buy it Now" it says successfully added to cart at the top of the screen, but nothing is added to my cart, also if I click the "Add this to your cart" button on the same page, nothing at all happens...
However, if I write a review for the product, and then click the "Add this to your cart" button on this page, everything works correctly.

I have installed a new version of Zencart and backed up and restored the store to this installation with exactly the same errors taking place, I read somewhere that if you cant log in as admin then it is a server error, but Ican log in no problems!

Any help will be greatfully appreciated, I am running V1.3.7 but have also tried v1.3.8 also.

Hi, Were you able to move onto the "Please enter your paypal password" screen?
If so... What browser/OS are you using?

What item did you try and purchase?
I and the host have both tried to purchase something and failed

I did not do anything except add something to the cart using your 2 methods

Ok, All stop again, it has stopped working again, the cart seemed to work for about 10mins after you logged in kobra but now doesnt work again :(

Any ideas anyone (Please see link to store in first post)

and why are you using Paypal by now buttons in the description? :blink:Why not just turn on paypal ipn? or express?

Hi barco57, now that, to be honest, I dont know, they were just there, I am using the IPN, is there somewhere I can turn them off? Maybe they are conflicting then?

You will have to excuse me but this is the first time I have used this fantastic piece of software!

They have been generated and added right into the product description. So to turn them off you are going to have to go through the descriptions and strip them out.

Ok, now this is getting stranger, yes it looks like the site owner has been putting in paypal buttons for some reason. I have just taken one of these links out (Bumbag in accessories/off bike) and it now adds to the cart no problem, but also so do all the other items, weather they have a paypal button or not?

Can you see if you can also add 'something' to the cart at your end to see if it all works?

I have tested and had no problems adding to the cart with the "add to cart" button, I also found that the "buy now" button where adding to the cart also, so instead of sending me off to paypal they were triggering the add to cart.

I would ask the owner why they are doing it that way. I would think they would want to manage orders through the cart. Having Paypal buy now buttons in there, I would think, would make keeping track of everything a royal pain in the ###

Additional info: I am testing with firefox, I haven't tried it in IE, which may exhibit different behavior (doesn't it always)

Thanks mate, I will let him know, as for why sometimes they are working and other times they are not is very strange. Im sure I have tried firefox and IE, as, as you say, who knows what works in one and not the other lol

I just hope they stay working now!
