Finding which product were purchased in an order

My client has titled all his products quite generically and has many product of the same title. When a purchased in made the order details just display the title of the products purchased. Hence it is not possible to tell exactly which products were purchased.

Surely I must be able to obtain the product ID's that were used in an order. I can't seem to find a solution anywhere. There seems to be no specific reference anywhere.

I’m using the latest version of zen cart with the austpost module paying via PayPal IPN - Website Payments Standard.

Can anyone help? Is there a setting I’m missing?

Re: Finding which product were purchased in an order

Perhaps give each product a unique model number?

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Yeah I see what you mean as the model number comes up in the invoice. This would involve hours of work to run through and do this.

So it not possible to look at the product in the order. I would have assumed I could just click them and open them up.

I can see how a model number can be used to reference stock, but how would I use the model to view the porduct details?

Re: Finding which product were purchased in an order

If you just want to see the products_id on the orders.php you can use:
$order->products[$i]['id']

and that will display the products_id of the Products ordered ...

Not necesarily. Since the 'model numbers' aren't (apparently) being used in your store all you need do is a create a simple SQL query to copy all the productID's over to the models field.

something like

update products set modelID = ProductID where ModelID = "" ;

(please don't try to use this example code as-is, 'cos it won't work).

As long as you get the syntax right it'll take no more than a few milliseconds :-)
