Browsable, but not purchasable

Hi All,

Basically, I'm wondering if there is a way to display a product and show stock quantities (which would be manually edited), while preventing the product from being purchased?

I have a client who is looking to use her site as a Catalogue, but at the moment, she doesn't want to set herself as a fully functioning online store.

I realise that you can remove the "quantity box", but then it leaves the "buy now" button.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Admin->Configuration->My Store->Store Status ... set it to Showcase with Prices, and your store will never do any actual "sales". It'll be "showcase only". This affects ALL products.
