Aust Post imrpoved - calcs help

Hi, any help with the problems below would be greatly appreciated.
i have installed the Aust Post improved mod. I have 2 problems. i had the old module working perfectly but i now have "letter" sized items as well as up to 3kg

Product #1 letter size wt .050 (50g) ht 13 wdth 10 lgth 1
1 letters charge is $1.10 for 1 (correct) for two it jumps to 500g satchel which is too much. it was doing all the increments up to large letter size ( $2.75) with the old mod.
I read the cubing text in the intstall files and understand how it stacks. I have tried to reorder the dimensions but it did not change anything.
product #2 for a 2.7kg item i can only get it to charge $4.20 even if I use multiples. it used to offer 3kg satchels reg & express etc

According to the server log files (and a couple of quick tests) you seem to be mixing your weight factors.

If you set the AP module to use 'kgs' then you must enter all weights as kgs, if you set it to grams all weights must be grams.

A product I just placed in the cart was supposed to weigh 1.2kgs ... it was submitted to the server as 1.2gms. Needless to say, I was able to add many of these to the cart and the quote remained the minimum $4.20.

Also, DON'T FORGET YOUR TARE WEIGHTS. depending on your kg/gm setting these also need to use the same weight factor.. eg, if you weigh in gms a valid tare weight may be "200", but if you switch to using kgs in the AP module this will need to change this to 0.200

BTW, how did you manage to get some items to display as Kgs and other to display as gms?

Hi Rod that is exactly what was wrong. Just one click to switch it to kgs in Aust Post mod and all ok. I already had the product weights in kgs.
One thing i did need to adjust was the dimensions because the cubing can blow out esp with the prepaid satchels if you put more than one item in the order.
Because we know what we can physically fit with in the weight per satchel i reduced the real dimensions until it offered the correct postage.

My mistake. The weights I was seeing/referring to are what you have entered as a part of the product title, which may or may not be the same as the actual weight being used for calculations.

Oh, I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but it appears that the "tpl_module_shipping_estimator.php" file being used by your store is the default one from the zencart distribution, which implies that the AustPost modified version has probably been uploaded to the wrong part of your store.
Functionally they are pretty much identical, but the modified version has a check that will display some disclaimer text the first time it is invoked by any given user (rather than producing the somewhat arbitory quote to an undefined destination).
The modified version also eliminates the unused dropdown menu for the the different States (only the postcode is required).

we did not realise that but have now corrected it. you might also notice we removed the disclaimer. we pretty much have it covered else where. Hoping to launch within a few days.

I've no objections to the disclaimer being removed. However the reason I added it in the first place is/was to conform to one of the 'requirements' of utilising the Australia Post servers. Having said that there are a couple of other 'requirements' that I've not adhered to (mainly because they weren't practical). Just thought I'd mention that.
