product page layout

Hi, I've looked in the forum for any detailed instructions on modifying the layout of the product display page and could not find what I was looking for. I'm wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to achieve the desired results below: (which pages do I need to modify?) thx, -Chris

I am new to this and don't fully grasp php. I am attempting to make a minor page layout adjustment also. I looked at the recommended file and I am not sure what I am looking at.

What I am trying to do is make the main category pages the same layout as the "new" and "all" pages.
