USPS Error

i am trying to set up the USPS model, however i keep getting the error

I am trying to use the "Enter the USPS Web Tools User ID" of ZENCART. I believe i read somewhere that works for testing. However it still isnt working.

I am using version Zen Cart 1.3.8a

Like i have explained to them, i actually need an account just for getting quotes and don't actually need the account for placing orders.

The Wholesaler is in USA and the reason i need it for the quotes is that when people do an order the items have to be sent from there to whereever they are.

Out of the box, all Zen Cart uses a WebTools User ID for is to calculate rates using the USPS rate-quote tool.

But i doubt that USPS will make an account for us and let us keep the account if we don't post any orders.

Well, that's up to them to decide.

You could always skip the live quotes and set up your own generic table-based rates instead using a different module.

Do you know of any models that wouuld do that, afterall i already have the table that USPS use, i managed to put it into file maker and use it on there.

Is there a model that will allow you to do the same ?

I just realised that wouldnt work, if they were in USA they would be charged the same as Australian.

Thanks for the help, we have just signed up for the account, we will cross the bridge when we get to it, regarding not using the account for posting, hell maybe we can use it when posting instead of the wholesaler using theres..

Sounds like it's something that could be used to verify address information.
Zen Cart doesn't use that service, so to take advantage of it would require writing your own module for that purpose.

I made my USPS account about 4 days ago and i am still waiting for it to be put on the product server. I have emailed them though the site about 4 times as well while i am waiting, does anyone know any direct Email so that they can get this working so i can go live with the shop....

I know there is a phone number but i am in Australia and would cost alot of $$ to ring and be on hold for 10 - 15 mins.
