How to turn off breadcrumbs on product listing page?

I used Admin > Configuration > Layout Settings to turn off breadcrumbs on my home page. I would also like to turn them off on my product listing page. This is because I have only one category, and I already turned off the "home" in the breadcrumbs. So on my product listing page, I'm seeing just the single crumb "Products" (the name of my category) at the top of the page, and it looks dumb.

You can see what I mean by going to:
https://www.collabiril.com/shop
Click on any product.
Then click on "Products" in the breadcrumb. This takes you to this page:
http://www.collabiril.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1

Alternatively I could just have the "Products" breadcrumb go to the home page instead. Along that vein, I found this post:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78454
which says to look at /includes/classes/breadcrumbs.php. I took a look at that and noticed there is a constant "DISABLE_BREADCRUMB_LINKS_ON_LAST_ITEM"
so I wonder what that is and is it something that can be set through the Admin?

Re: How to turn off breadcrumbs on product listing page?

  1. Create a file called: product_info.css
  2. Put the following code into it:
#navBreadCrumb {
	display: none;
}
  1. Save the file, and FTP it to the css folder in your custom template:

includes/templates/custom/css/

Thanks. Sounded like a nice, elegant solution, BUT ... it turns off breadcrumbs on the detailed product info page and I don't want that. That is, when you click on a product, you go to what I call the "product info" page, and I still want breadcrumbs on that page.

c_1.css won't do it either...

try renaming it to index.css

(basically what I am looking for is a solution using PAGE SPECIFIC stylesheets. For more info on this, look at the readme.txt in your CSS folder.)

You may have some success calling that file index.css

Re: How to turn off breadcrumbs on product listing page?

I noticed that the links in your left menu take the visitor out of the SHOP sub-directory on your site, to the root directory.

Perhaps this is intentional at this (testing) stage?

Re: How to turn off breadcrumbs on product listing page?

Yes it is intentional and I am still testing. Eventually, my "order now" page and the "order online" link in the top right will put you through to the store (/shop). Is that an ok way to do it?
Thanks!
