favicon.ico

I have created a** favicon.icon** and placed it in the root directory "httpdocs". I've also bookmarked my web so the browser catches de favicon, but there still no changes on the browser tab showing my favicon.

I am wondering if I need to place it somewhere elese inside the zen-cart directory or maybe make changes to the html_header.php. currently it reads like this:
Line #33 : <?php if (defined('FAVICON')) { ?>

Line #34 : <link rel="icon" href="<?php echo FAVICON; ?>" type="image/x-icon" />

Line #35 : <link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php echo FAVICON; ?>" type="image/x-icon" />

Line #36 : <?php } //endif FAVICON ?>

It is there ... but its on your root :- http://www.amnyperfumes.com/favicon.ico where it should be in the root of your zencart dir if thats where you want it to show.

I had read in the tutorial section that it should be placed in the root httdocs area, so that is why I had it there.
Now I moved it under:** htdocs/zen-cart/favicon.ico**
but still it does not show in my browser's tab.

I think I am not understanding very well where exactly I need to place the favicon. could you please send me the exact location?

think you had it correct both times , not sure why it is not working now ! it seems the page does not like loading it with the /zen-cart part on it , even though it all looks configured correctly.

Personally i would put it in both places and I assume your going to move the Directory so your zen-cart is in the root , then it should work , if it does not , then start looking why . Favicon's are notorisly picky and sometimes don't appear due to browser caching , ISP caching etc. Maybe someone else can point as to why ... your setup is correct As far as I can tell.

I have place a copy of favicon.ico in both the htpdoc and htpdco/zen-cart directories and nothing is happening.

I looked at the html-header.php that is located in template_default/common folder and the FAVICON part is mentioned there.

I am pretty new to zen-cart and to dealing with css or php coding so I am clueless about what could be the problem.

Talking about my cluelessness.. as you say, at some point I need to move my zen-cart directory to the root. I am just not quite sure what does that imply. Do I just move out all the folders located inside my zen-cart directory and place them underneath htpdoc where the index.htm file is?
If so, is that going to affect anything on my website in terms of images uploaded or links that included a URL of www.amnyperfumes/zen-cart/......?

I am worry I may screw something on the way..so I want to be 100% clear on how to make such move. Please advise.

In the tutorials/faq section are documents that cover both your problems. Try checking them out.

As far as the moving of the site, you have the option of leaving it alone and just redirect using .htaccess too.

I would check out the faq's though........

good news! the FAVICON decided to work this morning without me doing anything new. =)

Regarding moving my zen-cart directory from: **https://www.amnyperfumes.com/zen-cart ** TO https://www.amnypefumes.com
I found a tutorial on the subject, but it is not detailed for new zenners with no previous experience as myself, so I would appreciate someone could confirm the following steps:

1.Determine the new foldername where your Zen Cart™ files will be running from. Does this refer to the htdocs folder?

2. Go into Admin > Configuration > Sessions and change the Session Directory to reflect the new folder name. Right now is: ...../htdocs/zen-cart/cache. Do I just need to remove the 'zen-cart' part and leave the cache part?

3. Move/Rename the folder. You may need to use your FTP program to do this. I guess here I just need to move all folders from zen-cart to go straight under htdocs?

4. Your /includes/configure.php and /admin/includes/configure.php files are used to point Zen Cart™ to the right folders. In those files, you need to update several entries to match the new path information:
   Do I just replace all instances of 'zen-cart' with 'htdocs'? and in other instances just remove 'zen-cart' (ex:...../htdocs/zen-cart/cache')
