newsletter unsubscribe won't go away

newsletter unsubscribe won't go away

I have turned off every possible setting for the Newsletter and yet it still shows 'newsletter unsubscribe' in the information sidebox.

How can I just eradicate it from the information box?

admin>configuration>e-mail options>Display "Newsletter Unsubscribe" Link?

It's near the bottom of the page. Set it to false.

Oh I already did that, and have checked it twice. As I said, I have turned off EVERY visible
mention of a newsletter I could find.

Check this out. Just for the heck of it I went in to the email settings and where it says 'display newsletter unsubscribe' I set it to 'true' and it now
does not appear in the info box.

So, has anyone heard of that happening? The switch for displaying the link in the information box is functioning opposite of what it is set at !

The only time I saw that was when someone had installed an addon that had a customized version of that template file which had been improperly written, and it had broken some logic for how the switches were handled.
