changing domain?

Do not know if this is possible but want to move from thefilmbunker.com/store to thefilmbunker.com

My host support said:In order to make the change that you're asking for, you would need to make sure that all the files associated are directly in the public_html directory and not in the subfolder named "store".

Is there an easier way to do this such as download the store folder to my FTP and reload it to the root web?

Yes, you can do that through FTP if you like.

If you are moving the files to the root, there is no folder name. You are moving all the Zen Cart folders and files to public_html (which is probably what your root directory is called). The store folder is located in public_html already from when I downloaded it through Fantastico via Cpanel. When I click on file manager in cpanel it shows Home Directory, Web Root (public_html/www), etc. Wouldn't I have to send it to the Home Directory to get it to go to the site?

Yes that is where I have it. So I have to move all the contents of store to public_thml or jsut specific files? Would copy it in cpanel or via FTP be easier?

You need to copy (or move) ALL the folders and files in /store in order for it to work. You also have to edit the config files (check the tutorial I posted earlier). It probably doesn't matter whether you use CPanel or FTP. Depending on your FTP client, you may have to download all the files to your computer and then upload them again.

Ok, have FileZilla already installed. Will create a folder on my desktop to download all the folders and files into. When that is done then will upload back into public_html. Will do once I get the freaking header taken care of.

So for example, go into store then includes/languages,english then transfer them to my computer then back to public_html.

Upload the entire includes folder to public_html. This isn't that difficult. The same folder and file structure you see in /store, you should see in public_html.

It may be simpler for you to install Zen Cart in your root directory (download the latest version, upload it to the root of your website and run zc_install). You can create a new database for the new installation. Later, you can copy any custom folders you created in your /store directory to the same folders in the root.

Downloaded all of the store folder onto computer. Will upload the includes folder soon. Need to go take care of the little one first.

Just uploading the includes folder isn't enough. You have to upload the entire contents of the store folder or it won't work.

Yeah, he just added two teeth the other day so not feeling too happy. Went to look for the Admin folder but can't find it now. What would make it disappear?

Ok, actually the admin folder is gone. Can't find the Zen Cart Admin login. How do I correct this one?

And now get this error:Warning: The downloadable products directory does not exist: /home/thefil5/public_html/store/download/. Downloadable products will not work until this directory is valid.

Copied the admin folder in editors to store. Now able to log in it seems. How would the admin folder get moved to there?

C:\Web\public_html

Now download everything from your Hosting account 'store' directory into the above.

Once that is done you then upload all files/directories into your 'public_html' directory; same one as showing the 'cgi-bin' directory. Once you start the download / upload it will take 15 - 20 minutes each way. You can let the FTP program run by itself in case you need to do something.

Also, you will need to edit these two files:

admin/includes/configure.php

Remove any reference to 'store', save and upload into the 'public_html' directory.

Remember you can leave the 'store' directory as is. Nothing changes there and you are not deleting any files. After the new files uploaded you can compare in two Browser windows, to make sure things match. Only then is it safe to delete the 'store' directory and all files within it, from your Hosting account.

Just delete the files from the desktop instead of sending to the C://Web/public_html file? I am also guessing that I need to delete the home_html and home_css files that are already in the public_html directory as well.

I cannot advise about the files you mention as I do not know what those files are or where they come from.
