Can the customer log off?

Can I move the option of customer to log off to a more visible area of the page? Is there a setting that I need to change? Also is there a way to add customer history in information box?

You could deploy the login sidebox: (Free Add-ons) then "kill" the link in the top nave bar (I'd leave it there).
