Space between header and main page

Ok, this is a bit of a strange one, i had site my looking the way i wanted all perfect etc, then i noticed we forgot a home page button so i went and added a new header, when i did this i suddenly found that i now had a small space between the header and the rest of the age.

As can be seen here : http://www.space-fishing.com

All i did was change the header and thenwhen the problem occured i changed it back but the problem was still there. To the best of my knowledge i haven't changed any style sheet and can not see an error with them anyway, the question now is how do i fix it, any i ideas will be grateful.

Re: Space between header and main page

Hi Tina,

Thanks for the reply, i just had a look because i haven't touched it and in firefox the problem has gone, but it still exsists in IE, which makes me think it could be to do with the style sheet, but i haven't changed anything, i just changed the header file.

cheers

Re: Space between header and main page

For some reason you have altered the mainWrapper and the majority of your site is not contained within this div - - only your header items are contained. IE is reading this differently.....it may also read differently if returned to normal but at least it can be addressed

Re: Space between header and main page

You have some stuff in your stylesheet like this:

#navBreadCrumb {
padding: ;
background-color: ;
font-size: ;
font-weight: ;
margin: 0em;
}

always a good idea to have 0 values in there.

Re: Space between header and main page

Thanks guys,

I have added the vale 0 to the areas mentioned, not quite sure what you mean about the main wrapper, though i have chopped it about abit trying to getthe layout.

The thing i don't understand is that it all worked and it was only when i updated the header.php file in the common folder that this line appeared, as far as i can remember i didn't touch the css sheet to any great length.????

Re: Space between header and main page

Re: Space between header and main page

Try reuploading the stock tpl_header.php and see if that fixes it. You can always change it again.

Re: Space between header and main page

i have done that, but to be honest it has been chopped about so much it doesn't tell you as it displays just a background. I think it's time that i started again in a more structured manner this time, as nothing seems to remove that gap. Though i would love to know what I must have changed to make it appear, and as i can not remember really changing something it must have been something small.
