how to change order quantity of attribute ?

is there a way to add each product attribute separately to shopping cart ? this way customer can change the quantity of each attribute ?

ex: single product might have attribute such as small, medium, large.

if customer select small and medium, they added as single item to cart .. i need the way so customer can change the quantity ..

looked in addons, but can't figure if there is any mod available

What if they want:

Size small - TWO items
Size Medium - THREE items
Size Large - ONE item

as long as they can change the attribute quantity .. with current default zen cart ..
all attributes are added to shopping cart under same product .. so this way , customer can not change the quantity of attributes..

if they were added in separate line with quantity box in shopping cart that would have solved my problem from get go ..

There are several options open to you...

Firstly, it is very unlikely that a customer is going to order several different sizes of something (why would I want a SMALL t-shirt, when I am a MEDIUM fit?)

The QUANTITY of items ordered is usually governed by the quantity box, next to the add-to-cart button.

So if I want 6 SMALL t-shirts, then I put "6" into the quantity box, and select "SMALL" from your attribute drop-down menu. Then I add-to-cart.

If however, you want your customers to be able to choose different quantities of different sizes on the same product info page, then you will need to set up separate SIZE and QUANTITY attributes, and, as I said the Stock By Attributes module is best suited to handle this format.

the site im working on selling lab equipment.
so customers do order same products on different sizes with different quantities ..

also some products with different colors and sizes

a single product might have many attribute .. but each attribute dose constitute as a single item right ? as such all products do have Model number that this site needed to use. so i was not able to port that to attribute .. i had no choice but to make them into its own product list .. as you can see . i have tons of duplicated product image and info , with only minor differences . such as size, model number ( which is very important to site owner ) .

I am in process of redoing everything and need to get somehow attribute working correctly ..

I have a similar issue with a kitchen remodeling site, where they need to order quantities by attribute. so if my product is a 'Single Door Drawer Base', they may want 3-9" and 2 - 12". I've had a little experience with stock by attribute, but didn't see anything in there that would allow the customer to order multiple quantities per attribute. just the basic, select medium and quantity 3, then 3 mediums are subtracted from the available quantity. however I want the customer to be able to order 3 small and 4 medium, in one transaction.

My client is a manufacturer who sells to retailers... retailers who pick a (let's say) T-shirt design and order 2 Smalls. 3 Mediums and 1 Large. I'd like the retailer to be able to order the sizes and quantities they require from one page.

This answer may be too simple, but if you use the radio box instead of the checkboxes then only one attribute can be chosen at a time.

Having the same problem. Sadly it can not be fixed by using radio box, because my customers shop in bulk. It would be too much of a hassle for them.

Really need a way for them to go to a product page and input a quantity they want to buy from each attribute. And be able to make changes to their quantities per attribute in their shopping cart.

OR

Be able to Checkbox multiple attributes of a product they want to buy, then be able to go to their shopping cart and specify the quantity of each attribute they want.

Anyone know how to do this?

I have the same issue and don't have an answer, but one thing I did to help a little was to make sure the 'add to cart without leaving page' functionality was turned on.

This significantly cut down the navigation hassles and turned it into a simple page refresh in order to add additional items with different attributes.

Thanks but I already have it set to that.

I even tried the Attribute Grid addon. I thought that would work perfectly, but that lacks the ability to price each attribute it generates in the grid uniquely and to have more than 3 attributes per product.

Really need a option name that uses quantity box.

I know this thread is almost a year old.. Has there been any progress made to give Zen Cart this functionality? I am currently setting up a shopping cart that needs to work the same way.

I agree scastro. This needs revival. I am looking for a grid that can have it's attribute prices changed depending on what is selected from the dropdown above it. I am trying to get someone's attention to help out. All you ever get is "ZenCart can not do that in its current state" or something like that. Is anyone out there willing to help out? $$$??? :frusty:

I also need something like this to work. I have a server online store and because there are so many upgrade options like memory, processors, controllers, etc that can be added to the base model I am forced to run this store as a viewing only store and not a full-on e-commerce site. I have under each server a list of the upgrade options in static form, so at least customers can see there are upgrade options. I then produce a manual quote on another system for them from their choices when they phone or email me. This is quite an embarrassment for our company and its reputation.
OS commerce does have a product called "Attribute Qty Product Info" but because I'm no programmer I have no idea what to change and where to put the code. If anyone out there has the will power to maybe take the mod and change it for zen-cart, I think it will be appreciated by a lot of zen followers.
