Weight Attribute Not Working in One Category - Fine in all others!

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone can help please?

I have a number of categories on my site and within each category customers are able to order different product sizes as an attribute.

I have increased the weights of each attribute for shipping purposes and it works great on everything apart from one product category. This category is set up in exactly the same way but is not displaying the extra weight in the drop down list and does not add the extra shipping on when a product is added to the cart.

It is really odd. I have checked over the settings many times and they appear to be the same in every category, it's just that for some reason they are not working for one category!

It's really frustrating trying to work out why this could be. I have searched the forum and can't find an answer to it - has anybody came across this problem before and have any idea how to resolve it please?

Many thanks in advance

Phil

Hi Phil

If you provide a link to your site, we'll be able to see what the problem might be.

Re: Weight Attribute Not Working in One Category - Fine in all others!

Ah yes! That might help :)

Here's links to some working categories:

One

Two

Three

On each of these if you select he 1st drop down option (size) you can see that the extra weight is visible in brackets after the description/price.

However, in this category it doesn't show and is not applied when added to the cart.

As far as I can see everything is set up exactly the same so it's a bit of a mystery to me

If anyone can give me any ideas why it might be doing this I'd really appreciate it, as it's got me stuck!!

Thanks again

Phil

Re: Weight Attribute Not Working in One Category - Fine in all others!

I can see the problem, and all I can suggest is that the WEIGHT has not been set for: products_id=57. The Price increment is showing, (but the weight isn't) - suggesting that zencart is behaving properly.

Set up a TEST product category, then COPY that product (Don't LINK it) to the TEST category. While you work on the attribute parameters, keep that category disabled.

You may have to DELETE that attribute set and re-add them - but try all this on the CLONED product in the test category.

Brilliant site, by the way - exceptionally well done!

(What template are you using - or what template did you base it on?)
