Different part number for each attriibute

Hi All, Here is what I have run into and would like to know if there is a way to do this without having to create a new item for every different variation.

I sell and item, leatherman skeletool, this item has a sku of 830845 and it comes in a box. there is also the same model that comes in a clam pack and another that comes in a gift tin.

I dont want to have to create a item id for each one but rather just have a attribute.

  1. box
  2. clam
  3. gift tin

I would like to be able to add the SKU for the other two items (Clam, and gift tin) so that it shows the SKU for the selected item but not have to create a different Attribute with each SKU...

is this possible???

Thank you

JJM

Re: Different part number for each attriibute

SKUs for attributes is not part of the stock code at this time.

Thanks for your reply,

How about multiple pruduct model numbers rather than SKU? would this be possible with an addon mod? if so is there one ?

Nope, not model numbers for attributes, either. There is a mod that claims to do that but it's extremely unstable.

One possible work-around (though not ideal) is to include the model number in the attribute name, though you need to assign separate attributes to each product.

The good news is that this feature seems to be a part of the next version.
