Re: Center Column Heading Image Width

If you want your site a fixed width, editing the image in Photoshop is the best way.

If you want a flexible width image, you will need to use some version of the sliding door method to give the effect. Google for the standard tutorial.

In terms of my site will it be an issue if the image is photoshopped for lower screen resolution users??

Re: Center Column Heading Image Width

Not sure what you mean.
Is your site set to a fixed width? What is that width? If more than ~760px, users with 800x600 monitors will have to scroll horizontally. Photoshopping the header image to fit your site will not matter for this one way or the other.

If your site is flexible width, then you will need to make your header stretch and shrink with it. You want to save the image at 72ppi in any case. For flexible display, you may need to cut it in two or three sections with overlaps.
