still have error on site re: configure.php

Hey,

I've read the FAQ's and I've changed permissions on the configure.php file, but the big red error box is still on my pages.

How do I get rid of it? Any help would be appreciated!

Re: still have error on site re: configure.php

post the url / read what it says and post the content here again.
Are you sure you've changed permissions on both include/config and admin/include/config files?

Re: still have error on site re: configure.php

If you are changing permissions via your FTP program, your host may not permit strict Read Only (444) via FTP and you will have to change permissions via your host admin C-Panel (or equivalent).

Sometimes, settings for these files need to be 400 for the message to disappear.

Re: still have error on site re: configure.php

I am getting the same configure.php permissions error. I contacted my website host and they said they don't allow the chmod permission thingy. They told me I have to change something within that files .php. What is it I have to change within the two configure.php file to get rid of that "warning" message at the top.

Here is the file itself:

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/zen-cart/');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/zen-cart/');

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');
define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');
define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/');
define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/');
define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/');
define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/');
define('DIR_WS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_WS_CATALOG . 'pub/');
define('DIR_WS_TEMPLATES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'templates/');

define('DIR_WS_PHPBB', '/');

// * DIR_FS_* = Filesystem directories (local/physical)
//the following path is a COMPLETE path to your Zen Cart files. eg: /var/www/vhost/accountname/public_html/store/
define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/web/zen-cart/');

define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/');
define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'pub/');
define('DIR_WS_UPLOADS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'uploads/');
define('DIR_FS_UPLOADS', DIR_FS_CATALOG . DIR_WS_UPLOADS);
define('DIR_FS_EMAIL_TEMPLATES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'email/');

// define our database connection
define('DB_TYPE', 'mysql');
define('DB_PREFIX', '');
define('DB_SERVER', '');
define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', '');
define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', ');
define('DB_DATABASE', 'zencart');
define('USE_PCONNECT', 'false'); // use persistent connections?
define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'db'); // use 'db' for best support, or '' for file-based storage

// The next 2 "defines" are for SQL cache support.
// For SQL_CACHE_METHOD, you can select from: none, database, or file
// If you choose "file", then you need to set the DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE to a directory where your apache
// or webserver user has write privileges (chmod 666 or 777). We recommend using the "cache" folder inside the Zen Cart folder
// ie: /path/to/your/webspace/public_html/zen/cache -- leave no trailing slash
define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'database');
define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/web/cache');

?>

Thank you.

Re: still have error on site re: configure.php

Are you hosting on a LINUX or MS Server?

I would be very worried about hosting with a company that spins you that rubbish about changing code in the files!

If you are on MS, then it's likely your host will have to change the permissions.

There is nothing you need to change within the PHP code. File Permissions are a Server issue.

Search Google for "CHMOD" and "File Permissions" for more info.
