product_info_display changes

Here's the page:
http://bradfordwoodworking.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16&products_id=35

I'm looking for suggestions with bringing the main copy text up, so that the red bolded text would begin on the same line or just below the <h1> text (on that page that would be Bedside Table)

It would be nice to format the text into a column basically. I think I can do that with the stylesheet and using some padding and margins.

Further complicating my desired layout is the attributes that show up on pages like http://bradfordwoodworking.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15&products_id=34

The attributes module being present shoves everything down the page. ugh, I know I had this right at somepoint, but my brain is getting fried.

Any help or thoughts would be great!!

Joseph

Re: product_info_display changes

Even though I have a "reasonable" knowledge of CSS, I have often found the Product Info page to be extremely demanding when trying to configure it to meet fussy client needs.

I restructure tpl_product_info_display.php elements to sit sit inside table cells.

I hate to confess this, but this is what I do (on rare occasions) to ensure the layout is as clients want. I know it goes against contemporary HTML protocol on using <table> but until I get a Doctorate in CSS, I have to use stone-age processes.

Re: product_info_display changes

The basic approach I would suggest is to make sure that <br class="clearBoth" /> tags are removed from elements above the description in the output. They will form an upper limit to the top of the description.
This has the drawback that no more than one left and one right float can be used without a clear to keep it below the previous left or right float.

It may be possible to work around this by arranging all the left-floated elements first and all the right-floated elements next in tpl_product_info_display.php, adding wrapper divs for leftFloat and for rightFloat. Remove the floats on the individual elements and style the wrapper divs to float left or right, with text-align: left; or text-align: right; to get their contents aligned.
Then the description can rise up between the left and right floats and line up with the top of the title.

Re: product_info_display changes

Thank you for all your observations. I greatly appreciate it. I guess I can consider myself to be my own fussy client!
