Shipping - General discussion

Hi Fellow Zenners,

Finally made some good progress tonight in setting up my little store!!

I'm coming to the shipping part and am finding it frustrating in choosing which way to go.

Looks like the UPS configuration that comes with the cart is only for US - is there one for Canada?

That being said, I see there's one for Canpar and Cda Post.

However, what's bothering me a lot is shipping costs and all I can say is ouch!

I've been doing some prelim stuff and I found out that to send a package of 5 greeting cards to Europe from Canada via courier is going to cost about 67 dollars - for an item that may cost 25+-.

For a business (mine) that's going to sell a lot of prints, cards, etc can anyone give me any advice on this topic?:lamo:

What do I should I do?

Also you'll notice I put the topic of general discussion at the top - please feel free to add in your stuff if you like too.

Re: Shipping - General discussion

I don't think there is a easy way around this .
how dose your business operates ? do you sell products base on specific quantities?

UPS, Canadapost ,etc , will charge you base on your package dimension. if you have set quantity then you can figure the box size ( weight ) and add that to your product listing.

I have one site ( only one ) that only operates as catalogue due to problem with shipping charges.
I couldn't figure any way that i can give reasonable shipping cost to customers if they shop online .

I like to also hear how others charge for shipping .

Re: Shipping - General discussion

I have several clients in Canada and they are using Canada Post ~ no complaints about postage fees.
